Phase 1:
Melee Combo: The Nameless Puppet can perform long-winded combos of up to six hits that each deal a lot of damage. He will continuously move towards you while doing this, and can delay some hits to throw you off. Keep your distance and keep dodging backwards to avoid the damage.
Thrust: After a very short windup, The Nameless Puppet will thrust forward with his sword, dealing high damage and knocking you back. Dodge to the side to avoid this. Often followed up by an uppercut.
Uppercut: The Nameless Puppet will lower his sword and swing upwards, knocking you down and dealing high damage. Dodge to the side to avoid this.
Jump Attack: The Nameless Puppet will jump into the air either by a short height or very far, and then slam down at your location. Dodge to the side to avoid this. This can be a fury attack. The Ghost Walk amulet is highly recommended.
Phase 2:
Screech: Always after a fatal blow, but sometimes without, The Nameless Puppet will let out a screech that will create a damaging area around him. Back away to avoid the damage.
Cross Lunge: The Nameless Puppet will cross his swords and charge up an incredibly fast long-distance fury attack. This is difficult to avoid and even more difficult to perfect guard, so dodging with the Ghost Walk amulet is your best bet.
Fan Lunge: The Nameless Puppet will cover a long distance towards you while spinning his swords for high damage. Dodge diagonally to the side and towards him to position behind him and avoid the damage.
Long-Distance Thrust: The Nameless Puppet will glow red and perform a thrusting attack with his sword that will send a beam of red energy forward a long distance. This counts as a fury attack, but has a small hitbox. Dodging to the side a little early can avoid the damage.
Jump Attack: The Nameless Puppet will jump high and then slam down at your location with a shockwave of damage. Create distance and then dodge the impact.
Jump Slash and Slam: The Nameless Puppet will slash upwards with both swords before slamming down with them. You will need to dodge, delay slightly, and then dodge again to avoid the damage.
Overhead Slash: The Nameless Puppet will glow red and raise his sword high before slamming it down, creating a projectile forwards. This is a fury attack that is easier to perfect guard than the others, but can be dodged with the Ghost Walk amulet.
Long Reach Swing: The Nameless Puppet can extended the length of his sword and deliver a combo of swings. Dodge forward to avoid the damage.
How to Beat
The Nameless Puppet is one of the most challenging bosses in the Soulslike franchise, and definitely surpasses every other boss in Lies of P. However, with a very simple strategy, we will be able to content with The Nameless Puppet quite easily.
You will need to use the Aegis Legion Arm for this strategy. It will allow you to block many of The Nameless Puppet's attacks to greatly reduce the damage, so make sure the Aegis is fully upgraded for this fight.
With a fairly long-range weapon, you can deal some damage while holding your shield up. You just need to be careful that you don't eat through your stamina too quickly, otherwise you will not be able to block those nasty attacks.
Your P-Organ should be upgraded with pulse cell uses and amount, guard regain, amulet slots, and legion magazine boosts. By doing this, you will be able to regain health after you block an attack by simply hitting The Nameless Puppet, which means you can tank this boss for a long time. Be sure to stock up on legion magazines!
Make use of Electric Blitz damage, as The Nameless Puppet is, of course, a puppet, and is therefore weak to this damage type.
It is strongly recommended that you use the Ghost Walk amulet for this fight. You get this by trading the special ergo you get from Green Monster of the Swamp. It allows you to dodge fury attacks, which is incredibly useful in this fight since perfect guarding The Nameless Puppet's fury attacks is incredibly difficult.
The Veteran's Amulet is a must-have for increasing max legion amount, and it is recommended to use the Leaping Amulet and Patience Amulet as well for extra max stamina and stamina recovery.
Now, all you need to do in both phases is guard The Nameless Puppet's attacks and then poke back at him from behind your shield to regain your health. If you get caught by any of The Nameless Puppet's fury attacks, or if you don't manage your stamina and take a hit, that's when you use your pulse cells.
With some patience and careful management of your resources, you will have The Nameless Puppet down in no time, which is a big achievement!
