Stamina Sorcerer DPS Build
Stamina Sorcerer DPS builds are great for sustained damage, and can manage their resources and survivability incredibly well. They are relatively easy to use and deal very high damage in sustained fights, but must resort to weapon abilities to really shine in their role on account of their high magicka cost class skills.
Gear Sets
Perfected Arms of Relequen: To this day, Relequen remains one of the absolute best DPS sets in the game. You can get this from the Veteran Cloudrest trial, but the normal version will do until you're up to that tricky task.
Aegis Caller: This set has been a favourite of Cerny Gaming for a long time, and since it got buffed, things have gotten even better! High damage in a wide area with great uptime - what's not to love? This set comes from Unhallowed Grave.
Perfected Thunderous Volley: The bread and butter of stamina DPS characters for a long time now, providing a huge boost in damage. You can get this from Veteran Maelstrom Arena.
Zaan's: A powerful melee-range monster set that deals very high damage between its raw firepower and the additional burning status effect it provides. You can get this from Scalecaller Peak.
Skills
Rapid Strikes: This is your primary ultimate and should be used whenever your other DoTs don't need to be refreshed.
Bound Armaments: While weaving your other abilities, be sure to activate this one every fourth skill. If you can manage to fire it straight after the fourth light attack hits, perfect, however sometimes the game has a delay in processing this, so you may need to cast this every fifth light attack instead.
Camouflaged Hunter: We slot this on both bars so that we don't need to run Major Savagery on our potions.
Whirling Blades: This is your execute and should be used almost exclusively once the target hits around 25% health. Keep Degeneration and Endless Hail up and hit Bound Armaments when it is ready though.
Barbed Trap: Your source of Minor Force which can be switched out for more damage if you get Minor Force from somewhere else in your group.
Dawnbreaker of Smiting: We don't actually use this ultimate; it is only here to activate the Slayer Fighter's Guild passive to give some extra weapon and spell damage.
Endless Hail: This is a powerful skill when you have the Maelstrom Bow that deals more damage throughout its duration, so don't refresh it too early.
Hurricane: Similar to Endless Hail, Hurricane deals more damage the longer it is active, so be sure not to reactivate it too early.
Degeneration: This is your source of Major Brutality and should be kept up at all times.
Razor Caltrops: Razor Caltrops is an excellent area ability that deals respectable damage and applies Major Breach to all targets affected, which is a nice bonus.
Poison Injection: Technically an execute ability, Poison Injection will deal more damage the lower the target's health is.
Summon Greater Storm Atronach: This is one of the strongest single target ultimates in the game that also allows your group to benefit from the Major Berserk buff, which is a huge increase in overall DPS.
Champion Points
Fighting Finesse: A welcome addition to your critical damage output that will help you get up to the 125% crit damage cap. If you are exceeding this cap in your group, choose a different perk like Wrathful Strikes.
Thaumaturge: Damage in The Elder Scrolls Online is measured in how much damage you do per second over the duration of a fight, and stacking damage over time effects is the way to increase this. Thaumaturge will boost that damage type.
Master at Arms: An essential boost to one of the primary damage types that all DPS use - direct damage. This is important on almost any DPS build in ESO.
Deadly Aim: An important buff to single target damage that is essential to any build that gets hefty use out of a single-target spammable. It also boosts the power of single-target damage over time effects, stacking with Thaumaturge in that case.
Boundless Vitality: Every bit of health makes a difference, especially in some of the tougher content that The Elder Scrolls Online has to offer. This will help you bump yours up a little more, increasing your survivability.
Bloody Renewal: A powerful buff that allows you to restore stamina every time you slay an enemy. This shines best in boss fights with adds, or when facing many non-boss enemies.
Rejuvenation: Recoveries are important for every role. For healers, it is essential for keeping your group alive, for tanks, it is the source of most of your buffs and debuffs, for DPS, you can't deal damage with no fuel, and in PvP, no resources means death.
Celerity: Extra movement speed is an amazing boost in all content. In PvE, it helps massively with avoiding nasty mechanics, and in PvP, it allows you to run circles around your opponents.
Mundus Stone
The go-to Mundus Stone for any DPS is the Thief. It is very rare that you will reach the optimal critical chance numbers without the Thief unless you are specifically building for it, which isn't ideal. a
Food Buff
The Lava Foot Soup and Saltrice food buff is the absolute best option for stamina DPS across all classes, offering the best spread of Max Stamina and Stamina Recovery. However, if you are in content that needs more Max Health, try the Dubious Camoran Throne or Artaeum Takeaway Broth instead.
Race
The best race to use for this build is a Dark Elf (Dunmer). If you struggle to reach the crit damage cap of 125%, then a Khajiit is your best option instead.
Potion
Having built-in access to Major Brutality and Major Savagery means you don't need to run weapon power potions. Instead, you should run Heroism potions, granting Minor Heroism along with Magicka and Stamina return for a lengthy duration.
Mortality
Most Stamina DPS characters already have to work extra hard on survivability, and being susceptible to fire damage on top of high skill cost will make you a liability. Therefore, Vampirism is not recommended, and a werewolf offers no benefit. Stick to being a Mortal.
