Stamina Arcanist PvP Build
Stamina Arcanist pvp builds have an easier time of things than their Magicka counterpart. They are able to subsidise their high damage output with great tankiness and a potent in-your-face approach to combat, keeping up the pressure even more while remaining very difficult to take down.
Gear Sets
Deadly Strike: This set is perfect for a Stamina Arcanist, giving a really massive boost to their most powerful skill - Pragmatic Fatecarver. This set is relatively easy to get from guild traders or from gear vendors in Cyrodiil.
Rallying Cry: A nice, balanced set that gives you a bunch of extra damage and critical resistance when you critically heal, which you will often do in PvP. You can get this from gear vendors in Cyrodiil.
Sea-Serpent's Coil/Markyn Ring of Majesty: The Sea-Serpent's Coil offers the highest bonus to your damage output that you can get, but comes with the drawback of a snare when activate it. If you can run this then do, otherwise use the Markyn Ring of Majesty for a nice balance of power and defence.
Armor of the Trainee/Magma Incarnate: You have a slot available for whichever of these you need most. If you are managing your resources fine, go with Armor of the Trainee. If you need a boost, Magma Incarnate will help.
Skills
Rune of the Colorless Pool: In PvP, having access to a stun is almost essential, and this is an excellent one that also inflicts Minor Vulnerability and Minor Brittle.
Cephaliarc's Flail: Use this to open and close combat. It will debuff your opponent by lowering their damage mitigation, and is a poweful execute.
Pragmatic Fatecarver: Your primary source of damage. Use Pragmatic Fatecarver and Cephaliarc's Flail to generate Crux before using this.
Writhing Runeblades: A powerful ranged spammable that quickly generates Crux.
Impervious Runeward: Use this to protect yourself from very high amounts of damage. Acts kind of like a parry, with the shield's strength amplified in the first second.
The Tide King's Gaze: A powerful ultimate that should be used on enemies that have already been infliced with Abyssal Ink, and are stunned with Rune of the Colorless Pool.
Resolving Vigor: Use this for a strong heal over a short duration along with access to Minor Resolve, boosting resistances.
Recuperative Treatise: This is an extra source of Crux that returns resources back to you. Better yet, just having this slotted grants Major Sorcery to both bars.
Cruxweaver Armor: Your source of Major Resolve which also inflicts enemies with Minor Breach and generates Crux periodically.
Elemental Susceptibility: Use this to debuff your opponent with Major Breach, allowing your attacks to deal significantly more damage.
Elusive Mist: Use this as your primary defensive mobility tool, allowing you to close the gap with your opponent or reposition to safety.
Sanctum of the Abyssal Sea: This is your defensive ultimate, allowing you to gain extreme damage mitigation. The soaked up damage will then be released over ten seconds in an area around you, so pressure the opponent during this window.
Champion Points
Thaumaturge: This class shines best with damage over time abilities, and Thaumaturge will help with buffing that further. For most abilities that you will be using, Thaumaturge and Biting Aura will stack.
Biting Aura: This class in particular really benefits from a buff to area damage, making this a smart choice for increasing your burst damage potential, so make sure you always have it slotted.
Ironclad: Since direct damage is so common, it is important to also defend against it. That is where Ironclad comes in, boosting your mitigation against this damage type.
Resilience: No matter what the meta is running, critical damage will always be a big part of what many players build around in PvP. It is important to defend against that, and Resilience will help you there in combination with Impenetrable armour pieces.
Boundless Vitality: Every bit of health makes a difference, especially in some of the tougher content that The Elder Scrolls Online has to offer. This will help you bump yours up a little more, increasing your survivability.
Slippery: In PvP, pinning your opponent down with CC before you burst them down is important. This will prevent that from happening to you so easily, making it an important addition.
Rejuvenation: Recoveries are important for every role. For healers, it is essential for keeping your group alive, for tanks, it is the source of most of your buffs and debuffs, for DPS, you can't deal damage with no fuel, and in PvP, no resources means death.
Celerity: Extra movement speed is an amazing boost in all content. In PvE, it helps massively with avoiding nasty mechanics, and in PvP, it allows you to run circles around your opponents.
Mundus Stone
The best Mundus Stone to use on this build is the Lover for significantly better Penetration. The Lover gives the best overall boost to damage output on average against players, especially since players in PvP tend to run a lot of resistance. However, if you need more recovery, consider the Serpent instead.
Food Buff
The Artaeum Takeaway Broth offers an excellent combination of Max Health, Max Stamina, Health Recovery and Stamina Recovery, making it perfect for Stamina-oriented PvP characters. However, if you can't keep up with its hefty cost, you can go with the Dubious Camoran Throne for similar stats, but no Health Recovery.
Race
My preferred race to run on this build is a Dark Elf (Dunmer) for their superior overall damage. However, if you wish, you can switch to a Wood Elf for higher overall sustain, Nord for more damage resistance, or Orc for balanced stats, higher damage and speed.
Potion
PvP builds generally work best when running Immovability potions, which grants a lengthy immunity to snares, immobilizations and stuns. It's good to carry some potions to reveal invisibility as well to counter Nightblades.
Mortality
Stamina Arcanists have access to high flat recovery and increased status effect power, making Werewolves a viable option for Arcanists. However, Vampirism does not offer enough benefit to account for the increase in skill cost on an already expensive class. Therefore, we recommend Werewolf or Mortal.
