Dragon's Dogma 2 Vocation: Mage

Dragon's Dogma 2 Mage Vocation Logo

Find out how to unlock this Vocation and all others HERE

Welcome to the Mage Vocation for Dragon's Dogma 2. Vocations are a very important factor that will determine the skills and weapons available to your character, influencing your overall approach to combat situations in Dragon's Dogma 2. Some Vocations and unique abilities can be unlocked by gaining the favour of Maisters. These are masters of their respective Vocations, and can be found in various locations around the world.

How to Use Effectively

The Mage Vocation serves best in a very strong support role, able to boost the healing, damage, speed, stamina recovery and damage resistance of allies. As such, they should be used on the back line, away from the fight itself, and other characters should cover the Mage quickly if they come under attack. While a Mage can make a viable attacker, losing out on their powerful support abilities would be a shame.

The Mage Vocation completes many teams. Having a Mage available in your group is almost essential for survivability if you hope to avoid burning through consumables at an obscene rate. Mages support the team in two significant ways.

The first is their healing abilities. Mages have the capacity to heal large amounts of heal for both single allies and the entire team, keeping them alive through substantial damage and often meaning the difference between life and death.

Mages can also apply powerful buffs to the team. They can cast spells to increase the stamina recovery of allies, boost their speed, and even imbue their weapons with powerful elemental effects, such as lightning and fire.

Mages form the core of most teams, and it is always very highly recommended to have one with you in all combat scenarios.
