Dragon's Dogma 2 Vocation: Sorcerer

Find out how to unlock this Vocation and all others HERE
Welcome to the Sorcerer Vocation for Dragon's Dogma 2. Vocations are a very important factor that will determine the skills and weapons available to your character, influencing your overall approach to combat situations in Dragon's Dogma 2. Some Vocations and unique abilities can be unlocked by gaining the favour of Maisters. These are masters of their respective Vocations, and can be found in various locations around the world.
How to Use Effectively
The Sorcerer Vocation performs best as a damage dealer, capable of loosing devastating spells over a wide area that really do deal a tremendous amount of pain. It is important for a Sorcerer to remain on the backlines, allowing the tankier Vocations to take the aggression of enemies while you lay waste to them from a distance.
Weapon Skills
Decanter:
While standing still, the user will absorb health from the target to themselves for as long as the spell is cast. Upgrades to High Decanter for higher range and healing power.
Hagol:
Create a blizzard in an area that damages all targets that make contact and inflicts them with Frostbite. Can be upgraded to High Hagol to increase the duration and the range.
Prescient Flare:
Creates an orb which attaches to an enemy. This orb will explode if it is attacked, and striking it yourself will add to its power. Upgrade to Augural Flare to increase the damage and duration.
Salamander:
Send forth fire along the ground that will deal damage to any enemy that stands in the area of effect. Upgrade to High Salamander for higher range, damage and duration.
Seism:
Rocks will be sent flying into the air to deal physical damage to opponents. Can be upgraded to High Seism for more damage over a wider area. Effective against high Magick Resistance.
Thundermine:
Leaves a lightning ball that will explode when an enemy gets too close, knocking down small targets. Upgrade to High Thundermine to increase the duration and damage.
Maelstrom:
Creates a hurricane that deals incredibly high damage against anything in its path. You cannot move while casting this spell.
Meteoron:
Creates a meteor shower that deals incredibly high damage to any targets caught in its wide area. Especially effective at particularly large opponents.

Core Skills
Galvanize:
The user gains the ability to rapidly recover stamina. This can be used while moving, but its potency is reduced while doing so.
Bursting Bolt:
Unleash a ranged attack against an enemy that will attach and explode after a short delay. The type of damage this deals depends on the enchantment currently active on the weapon.
The Sorcerer Vocation is designed for one ultimate goal: to deal as much damage as possible with each attack. This is made easier with access to a wide range of fearsome spells that deal incredible damage, but this power comes at a cost.
Most of the Sorcerer's wide-range attacks deal a ton of damage in a significant area, but the downside is that these spells take a long time to cast. This cast time is called Incanting, and means Sorcerers need to be very selective about when they attempt to use their abilities.
If a Sorcerer attempts to use its powerful spells while getting too much attention from hostile enemies, they will likely be attacked and staggered out of their spells. So, it is important to have a tanking Vocation in the team, such as the Fighter, Warrior or Trickster.
