Golems are one of the more challenging kinds of overland boss enemies you will encounter in Dragon's Dogma 2. Some are stronger than others, such as the one near the entrance to the Volcano on Volcanic Island, and the one guarding the entrance to the Sphinx at the Mountain Shrine. With this guide, you will learn how to put them down easily.
Everything you need to know about Golems in Dragon's Dogma 2
Attacks:
Golems are capable of attacking with a variety of slamming attacks with its legs and fists, all of which effect the area directly around or in front of it. These are highly telegraphed by the Golem raising the limb it plans to smash with, and are easily avoided by backing away.
A Golem may perform a grab attack, mostly used if you are clinging to its head, but sometimes when you are directly in front of it. The Golem will attempt to crush you before throwing you to the ground, dealing high damage.
If a Golem begins charging a white light where its face would be, it is about to send out a barrage of lasers that move very quickly and deal high damage. This is typically done in a straight line in front of it along the ground, and a moment after the laser hits the ground, the area will explode for secondary damage. When the Golem begins charging this attack, get behind it quickly.

How to Beat a Golem in Dragon's Dogma 2
Weaknesses:
Golems only have one weakness, and that is the glowing blue medals that you will see situated around its body. These are the only realistic way of dealing damage to the Golem, since any other part of its body is almost completely impervious to damage. As such, climbing onto the Golem or using ranged attacks to target these spots is the only way to defeat this enemy reasonably.
Once all of the magick medals have been destroyed, the Golem will enter a cycle of performing several enraged attacks before extending its arms and cooling down. While its arms are extended, glowing blue areas at the upper arm/armpit areas will be revealed, and this is now the only way of finishing off the Golem. Cling on and get hits in or perform ranged attacks to finish the Golem off.
One particularly fun and interesting way to deal a lot of damage to a Golem is to knock it down by pulling at its legs and dealing a lot of damage in a short space of time. If you do this, its head will fall off, but the Golem will still be alive and attempt to perform melee attacks when it gets back up. The head will also attempt to perform its laser explosion attacks. The head can be moved like a boulder, so if you push it so that it aims at the Golem's body, it can laser blast itself for high damage.
